What we know about President Trump’s visit to Indianapolis

The president of the United States visits the Hoosier state to talk tax reform, saying IN has been a state to watch.

The White House is looking to moderate Democrats up for re-election, like Donnelly, to build support for tax reform. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Joe Manchin of West Virginia for a working dinner with Trump at the White House focused on the Republican tax overhaul.

The visits by Trump and Pence are in part to try and persuade Democratic Indiana Sen.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – President Donald Trump will detail his tax reform plan in Indiana Wednesday.

“It’s an honor to welcome President Trump to IN, and I hope he has an opportunity to hear directly from Hoosiers on an issue that impacts not only our families but our economy”, Donnelly added. Earlier this month, Donnelly joined Sens.

Businesses who purchase equipment can fully write it off only in the year it was purchased and families with children under the age of 17 will find an increased tax cut. “Hardworking Hoosiers need this tax cut”, Pence said to Donnelly, who was in attendance.

In a press release, Donnelly said that he was committed to working with Trump to fight the outsourcing of jobs and to seek bipartisan tax reform. Administration officials nor the President will provide an exact number and will rely on proper congressional committees to come up with one they deem appropriate.

Meanwhile, Gov. Eric Holcomb’s office says he will miss the speech – he has a prior engagement in Chicago, but says in a statement, “The time is now for Congress to act on tax reform”.

Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly will fly with Trump to IN, and says he’s hoping to find bipartisan common ground on tax reform.
