Daines discusses Flathead school.
FBI Director Christopher Wray warned lawmakers Wednesday that terrorists using drones to carry out attacks is the next “imminent” threat.
Nicholas Rasmussen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, also testified about the threat from drones.
“Two years ago this was not a problem”. This forced the closure of more than thirty schools for three days and affecting over fifteen thousand Montana children.
“This is unprecedented, we have not seen that before”, Daines said.
The culprit responsible for the recent cyber threats in Montana has been identified as “The Dark Overlord”, which is an overseas criminal organization.
Wray mentioned that the F.B.I.is actively investigating the cyber threats that just occurred in Montana.
In Wray’s response, he says the collaboration ideally results in more offenders discovered.
‘I think they are relatively easy to acquire, relatively easy to operate, and quite hard to disrupt and monitor so it’s something I would welcome working with Congress as well as with the other agencies to try and figure out a solution, ‘ Wray added. It’s hospitals, it’s its schools in your case – so it’s a threat that is growing. “We take both of them very seriously”.
“No, we do not”, Wray said. They also work with partners to identify similar cases and exchange information to identify telltale signs of the criminals that could link them back to particular organizations, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation director. I think one of things we’re seeing more and more in this area as much as any other is how this stuff transcends boundaries, and so some of the same organizations are targeting victims in other countries as well.
He added that drones have become more of a threat very recently.
