A wedding photo shoot took a dramatic turn in Canada when the groom leapt into a river to save a child from drowning.
Clayton Cook and his new bride, Brittany, were posing for photos in a park in Kitchener, Ontario, after their ceremony Friday. The images have since gone viral.
“Then, while Brittany was getting her solo shots taken, I realised only two were standing on the rock ledge”.
“I saw the boy in the water struggling to keep his head up”. That’s when I jumped down. Without a moment’s hesitation, the hero groom jumped into the water and grabbed the young boy, bringing him out to safety.
Hatt, who captured the whole thing on camera, posted the photos on his Facebook page, where they earned 9,000 likes as of Wednesday morning.
Many users commented, including Janel Vasquez-Perez, who said the bride is the “luckiest woman” and saying “Bravo” for having such a great instinct.
“So, I just kept on capturing the story of the day, including this”.
Ms Cook said her husband’s quick-thinking and heroic action did not surprise her.
While Brittany was having her solo photos taken, Clayton happened to notice that one of the children had disappeared and made a decision to investigate, walking over to the pond.
“That’s Clay to me”, she told CTV. “It’s something he would just instinctively do”.
