After opening up with stock pre-orders of over 1,120,000 copies, BTS’s “Love Yourself: Her” has officially set a new sales record, coming in with over 750,000 copies sold in its first week!
According to the Official Charts Company, which compiles various British records charts, “DNA”, the main track from the album, took the 90th spot on the Official Singles Chart. BTS actually held the previous record; its “Wings” went as high as #26 on the chart.
BTS continue to push where no K-pop act has gone before with a debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
Citing data from Nielsen Music, the magazine reported on its website that the record stood “at No. 7 with 31,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending September 21” to become the highest-charting album ever on the Billboard 200 by a K-pop act.
18 at 6 p.m., the video soon became the fastest K-pop music video to reach 20 million views on the video streaming platform.
