If your idea of good Sunday escapism is living vicariously through the extravagant wealth of others, then please, turn your attention to these photos of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s newly purchased $26 million home in East Hampton.
This house isn’t the couple’s first real estate play this year. It was originally built by famous architect Stanford White and was later updated and enlarged by Jeffrey Collé. The patina-matched tubs, counters, and tiles were even carved from single blocks of stone by master European craftsmen! Outside, the new owner gets a pond-fronting infinity-edge pool and spa, an outdoor dining space and a wraparound terrace.
Beyoncé, 35, and rapper Jay – who have daughter Blue, five, and three-month-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter – were said to have been outpriced on abodes they took a fancy to which were going for double their house fund. Jay and Bey were photographed making their way around on a golf cart, as they picked out art for their new home.
The home boasts almost 12,000 square feet of living space, including 5 bedrooms, 7 full and 2 half bathrooms, and a guesthouse with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
Galleries offering works of art including those by Richard Prince and Chris Martin included Marlborough Contemporary, David Zwirner, Mitchell-Innes & Nash, and David Kordansky.
