Governor Cuomo Goes To Puerto Rico To Assist Storm Aftermath

Closer to home, New York City officials celebrated a new office that will be dedicated to promoting the city’s nightlife, while the repercussions of the September primaries continued to shake out in New York City, on Long Island and in Albany.

“My initial goal was $25,000.and [it] made me extremely emotional to see that so many people care and so many people have reached out”. “Governor Rossell√≥ didn’t have to ask because in NY we are family with the Puerto Rican community”, Gov. Cuomo said.

On Friday, the FDNY announced 18 new locations throughout the five boroughs where people can now bring critical supplies to from 7 a.m.to 9 p.m. daily as long as the need persists overseas.

Sixty members of the New York Army National Guard, four Black Hawk helicopters and 50 state police are also on standby to help. “It’s what we do everyday firefighters and officers help out every day”, Carroll said. Cuomo says Friday’s trip will be the first of many, as the Island rebuilds and recovers. “As the largest airline in Puerto Rico, we are in a unique position to work with them to support our crewmembers, customers and communities across the island”.

The people of Puerto Rico could be dealing with the effects of Hurricane Maria for many months to come, and relief workers are already on the ground, funneling in as much aid as possible.
