End of the world emergency alert runs on Southern California TVs

In a statement, the station said: “During a regularly scheduled test of the Emergency Alert System for Orange County, KWVE-FM experienced an equipment failure that resulted in KWVE-FM not sending the end-of-message tones that would disconnect those media entities participating in the Emergency Alert System test”.

On Thursday, a woman was watching reality TV channel Bravo and at around 11 am the “emergency alert” started flashing on her television screen. “I wasn’t alarmed in the sense of thinking something was wrong, because I assumed it was some sort of hack”.

“It sounded like a radio broadcast coming through the television”, she told The Orange County Register.

“It nearly sounded like Hitler talking”, Laflamme, who was watching HGTV via Cox Communications when she received the message, said. “My channel changed back to Bravo after a couple minutes”.

A Cox spokesman told the newspaper viewers should have seen a typical emergency-broadcast test but a technical malfunction caused it to go on longer than it should have.

“With these tests, an emergency tone is sent out to initiate the test”, Camero said.

An ominous message about the end of the world interrupted television broadcasting in LA’s Orange County on Thursday morning, alarming viewers.

A Christian radio station called KWVE-FM was conducting a test, but it was not carried out properly, causing it to be accidentally broadcast across the region, the OCR reports. He said as soon as Cox became aware of the issue, they shut the alert down.

“We don’t want to alarm anyone with any false emergency alerts”, Camero said.

Both Cox and Spectrum are investigating the incidents.

“Various people are “predicting” that world will end September 23 when another planet collides with Earth. The disasters that are coming-the military-I’m sorry the government knows about them…”

It hasn’t been determined if the audio in the alert is related to a prophecy by David Meade, a self-described “specialist in research and investigations” who believes catastrophic events will occur Saturday.
