Kyrie Irving says he ‘absolutely’ can win NBA Championship without LeBron James

Irving appeared on ESPN’s First Take and dug his heels in when explaining why he shouldn’t have to explain himself to LeBron. or anyone.

Irving requested a trade from the Cavaliers this offseason and was eventually traded to the Celtics for Isiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, a 2018 first-round pick and a 2020 second-round pick.

Smith: “Did you speak to LeBron James or talk to LeBron James before you and your representatives met with ownership and let them know that you wanted out?”

Irving says it’s “nothing personal”. yeah, right.

Pressed by First Take co-host Max Kellerman, Irving said it wasn’t about “wanting or not wanting” to play with James.

“I don’t think you owe it to another person in terms of figuring out what you want to do with your life”, Irving said.

Perhaps there really isn’t any ill will between James and Irving and perhaps they will speak in the near future. There’s no time to figure out how to save someone’s feelings when ultimately you have to be selfish in that in figuring out what you want to do. One of the reasons – he did not want to play with LeBron James anymore, according to multiple reports.

After that game, he left Duke and was selected by the Cavaliers.

By leaving Cleveland, do you think you have a better chance at winning a Championship? He was also named an All-Star four times. It’s a theme he addressed when he was introduced in Boston and in a video he posted thanking the city of Cleveland. I’m not here to tirade anybody or go at one particular person or the organization because I have nothing but love for Cleveland.

“It’s time to make that decision”.
