Leicester’s Vardy earns 1-1 draw at Huddersfield

Midfielder James has not trained this week after suffering an Achilles problem against Chelsea while full-back Fuchs is nursing an eye injury following a freak accident in training which saw a pole flick him in the face.

Vicente Iborra could make his Leicester debut after recovering from a groin injury, while Robert Huth is in contention after ankle surgery.

But despite Wagner’s disappointment at not bouncing back from Monday night’s first defeat of the season at West Ham with all three points, he was delighted with his side’s performance.

“We got the response I wanted from the West Ham game in terms of the performance. the team showed great attitude”, the German said.

“I think he was very good”, Wagner added”.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare was pleased with the way his players showed character and dug in to earn a draw at Huddersfield.

He said: “The start we’ve had against the Chelseas, Manchester Uniteds and Arsenals has been tough”. Until he has seen the specialist, I would like to hold back and see how he is.

Huddersfield are without a clean sheet in the last 11 meetings with the Foxes in all competitions.

Craig Shakespeare has revealed that two of Leicester’s first-team stars are unavailable for the Premier League encounter with Huddersfield on Saturday.

After five rounds, newly promoted Huddersfield has eight points, four more than Leicester.

Both Huddersfield and Leicester have only made one change to their starting XI overall this season in the Premier League. That campaign ended in relegation.

The Foxes have lost 15 of their 21 away league games since the start of last season (W2, D4).

And Shakespeare would love the Nigerian frontman, 20, to form a deadly duo with Jamie Vardy.
