Hurricane Irma: Seminole, Volusia schools closed Wednesday

Sarasota County Schools will return to class on Monday.

Schools will first undergo a cleaning, and then a deeper sanitation. Here’s what other school districts are doing. And during the height of the storm, all shelters became pet-friendly, and pets were no longer required to be in crates. “Now the schools have to be scrubbed and cleaned – but we saved lives”.

Seminole County and Volusia County public schools will be closed Wednesday in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

New College classes also are canceled Wednesday, according to the school.

I am happy to share that we will reopen schools and resume classes on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017.

Schools will be closed Wednesday, Sept. 13 and Thursday, Sept. 14, while crews continue to assess damages and the community recovers from the hurricane.

The Ringling College of Art and Design will be closed through at least Friday.
