According to TMZ, cops responded after receiving a call saying Nicholas was seen punching the elevator in his building.
Nicholas Van Varenberg, 21, was arrested by cops on Sunday in Tempe, Arizona after police were twice called to his apartment block.
When the police officers arrived, they found a trail of blood leading to his apartment.
Police then left tbut 20 minutes later the room mate dashed downstairs and said he’d escaped the flat where Mr Van Varenberg was holding him at knife point. He told authorities that his roommate was angry that he had opened the door for police officers earlier.
Varnberg was booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful imprisonment.
The 21-year-old, who was born in Los Angeles, made an appearance in the 2017 film Kickboxer: Retaliation which his father starred in.
After talking to the son of Jean-Claude Van Damme and his roommate, the police went. Van Damme also has adult children Kristopher and Bianca with Gladys Portugues, who he was first married to from 1987 to 1992. As revealed by TMZ, the latter accuses Nicholas Van Varenberg to have threatened with a knife. They remarried in 1999, and she filed for divorce for a second time in 2015. They divorced only a few years later.
