Missing Forrest County man in standoff with SWAT, hostage safe

According to Calico, Christopher Paul Dulas is now in a standoff with Law Enforcement on I-55 in Grenada.

Forrest County officials said on Saturday that police believe Christopher Paul Dulas had kidnapped his wife, and that he should be considered armed and risky.

The preliminary investigation indicates Dulas had kidnapped his estranged wife last Thursday and a missing person report was filed with the Forrest County Sheriff’s Department.

Sources confirmed with FOX13, Christopher Paul Dulas, the man who was in the standoff, shot himself and is now dead.

The incident began around 1 Sunday afternoon and didn’t end until 8 PM.

A Crime Stoppers tip led Grenada County deputies to an RV park in the City of Grenada.

Deputies were able to rescue Dulas’ wife, Angelica, and he fled in a truck pulling a recreational vehicle.

BATESVILLE, Miss. (WJTV) – Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers in Batesville tweeted that 12 miles of I-55 is completely blocked. They believed Dulas to be armed and risky.

Christopher Dulas was a member of the US Army and was stationed at Camp Shelby, officials said.

I-55 between MM 208 and MM 220 is closed in both directions. We have calls out and will update as soon as we have more information.
