Man throws wife out of house for making portraits of Modi, Yogi

Nagma Parveen had married Pervez Khan in Basarikpur village under Sikanderpur police station area in November a year ago.

According to the police, when the victim showed her artistic skills to her husband in from of portraits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath but her husband lost his temper and assaulted her.

The woman, who has been identified as Nagma Parveen, was thrashed and then thrown out of her in-laws’ housein Ballia city near the Bihar border after she made a painting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She painted the political leaders and showed it to her husband who flew into a rage and showed it to other family members.

Meanwhile, a media local report claimed that it was the second marriage for her husband Pervez. They alleged that Nagma had gone mad. When she approached her in-laws’ house she was beaten up.

The woman then called her father, who was told by the in-laws that his daughter can not stay in the family.

A complaint was registered against the in-laws by the father of the woman. “A thorough probe will be carried out and action will be ensured accordingly”, Avinash Kumar Singh, station officer of Sikandarpur police station told HT.

He said the woman earlier lodged a complaint against her in-laws on July 20, alleging that they were harassing her for dowry. The matter is under mediation.
