The Blaugrana don’t seem too keen on continuing the relationship with Turan, who has yet to play a second of La Liga football this season.
The Turkey captain has just returned to the club with a hamstring injury suffered on global duty but reports have emerged saying that the 30-year old is set for a two-year loan to boyhood club Galatasaray. Spain’s sports daily Marca and RAC1 station alleged that Arda Turan will move to Galatasaray on a two-year loan deal, with no place for him in coach Ernesto Valverde’s plans. The remaining 2 million euros of Turan’s wages will be paid by the NEF, a real estate firm that sponsors both Barcelona and Galatasaray, with the move expected to be confirmed.
Do you think Turan should consider leaving Barcelona?
Though the Spanish transfer window for signing players shut on September 1, the window in Turkey closes later on tonight and the national team’s skipper looks set to be returning to the Turkish Super Lig. The 30-year-old never got off the ground and has battled for playing time without ever truly convincing in the azulgrana shirt. The Turkish global made a name for himself playing for Galatasaray where he won a league trophy, cup and Super Cup during his time in Istanbul, before moving to Atletico Madrid.
The 30-year-old, who cost the Barca €34 million (R524 million) in 2015, has struggled to for regular game time since his move from Atletico Madrid to the Camp Nou.
