A politician’s son takes over his place. “I don’t want him (Taimur) to be looked upon as a star kid”.
The gorgeous begum of the Pataudi khandaan, Kareena Kapoor Khan makes headlines quite often and has pegged our attention yet again. Her great grandfather was an actor, grandfather Raj Kapoor acted, produced and directed memorable film and following his father Radhir Kapoor’s footsteps Kareena and even her elder sister Karisma Kapoor tpo act in movies.
At an award function, Varun Dhawan along with hosts for the event Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan mocked Kangana in the wake of the nepotism controversy. Basically, the industry is a ruthless place. She accused the Bollywood director of being the “flag bearer of nepotism” in the industry. “It’s about talent and survival of the fittest”, she was quoted saying in the report.
Although it seems like Kareena’s outlook is itself a little trivial given that she hails from a family of generational actors, she further added, “If there’s Ranbir Kapoor, there’s also Ranveer Singh who’s not from the industry”. So honestly, nepotism is overrated.
Kareena further validated her point by giving examples of newcomers from outside the realm of Bollywood, who did well for themselves in the industry. “It’s not only about star kids”, she adds. She went on to say that if there is a star kid like Alia Bhatt, there is also Kangana Ranaut, who is successful despite being an outsider. This is the reason Kangana is seen as one of the finest actresses, she said.
Kareena Kapoor also said that nepotism is ‘overrated’.
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut invoked the debate on nepotism in Bollywood on Karan Johar’s chat show nearly six months back, but the topic continues to rages on.
