The M2 Play is the fingerprint scanner that can unlock the device in.15 seconds. To keep the lights on, M2 Play has a 3000mAh battery under the hood. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 2.5D curved glass on top. The phone runs the Android Nougat operating system covered under Nubia UI 5.0 theme.
ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia has slashed prices of its entire range of smartphones. The M2 Play competes directly with the Redmi 4 and offers similar specifications as well. This sit right between the high-end Nubia models and the Nubia M2 Lite which was launched earlier, giving users a bunch of options to choose from.
Priced at Rs. 8,999, the Nubia M2 Play will be soon available for purchase in India exclusively via e-commerce platform Amazon India in Black colour option only. The main highlights of the smartphone are its Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, stylish design, DTS surround sound, fingerprint sensor for biometric security, 4G VoLTE capabilities and a powerful 3,000mAh battery with NeoPower 2.5 technology support. The chipset is paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
To give some perspective, the Nubia M2 Lite sports the same display. There is 32GB of internal storage in the phone apart from which it has an expandable storage slot that can hold a micro SD card of up to 128GB capacity.
Nubia M2 Play features a 13-megapixel main Sony CMOS sensor at the back with an f/2.2 aperture, flash support, and hybrid autofocus.
On the front, it has a 5 megapixel 84-degree wide angle front camera with the f/2.4 aperture for further composition in selfies. But it is powered by a slightly less powerful Helio P10 processor.
At 7.9 mm, the Nubia M2 Play is one of the slimmest smartphones in the budget category.
