Sony has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone at a press conference a day before IFA 2017 officially kicks off in Berlin.
Last year, Sony made the decision to bump the flagship Compact series down – you know, the 4.6-inched small top-tier phones they used to release together with each yearly flagship refresh now became mid-range devices with the Xperia X Compact.
“The Xperia XZ1 measures a comfortable 5.2″, and features a 23MP camera for super-slow motion video capture as well as the previously seen Predictive Capture function. You just need to check if you are on the latest version of the app and phone’s latest firmware. So you could 3D scan your head and print it in 3D, as reported by GSM Arena. One of the most unique features on these devices is the 3D Creator app, which allows you to map a 3D image of pretty much anything and use it as a custom wallpaper, an AR effect, gaming, 3D printing, and more. It’s quite gimmicky, but it’s still hilarious to try out. Sony says that it can even be sent to a 3D printer for printing, should you wish to do so.
Alternatively, 1,200 people who pre-order either the Xperia XZ1 or Xperia XZ1 Compact will receive a pair of h.ear on 2 Mini headphones, also free of charge. Stay tuned for our full review coming up in the new few weeks.
