According to KMGH, the health workers had helped themselves to a peek at the deceased man’s penis, at one point going so far as to open a body bag to view his departed parts.
A spokesman for Denver Health Medical Center confirmed the nurses had been suspended three weeks for viewing the patient’s body in early April and making inappropriate comments about it.
In the wake of an internal investigation sparked by the complaint, five nurses were suspended from their jobs for three weeks.
“Multiple staff members viewed the victim while he was incapacitated, including after he was deceased”, a Denver Police report says.
“The complainant, Risk Management for Denver Health, made a mandatory report”.
At first, only two medical attendants were suspended, a representative for the healing center revealed to ABC 7. Prosecutors decided there was not enough evidence to bring a criminal action against the employees. One of the medical caretakers never again works at the healing center yet was not let go in light of the episode, a clinic official said.
The hospital then made a mandatory report to police, but investigators chose to allow hospital officials to handle the incident themselves.
None of the names of the attendants, their medicinal unit or the name of the patient were discharged by the doctor’s facility.
