IFA 2017: Moto Goes After Value Market With New X4

The Moto X4’s dual lens camera framework is among its key attractions.

As the Moto brand gathers momentum in Australia, owners Lenovo has moved to crank up their offering to a new level with the Moto X4 which has a dual-rear camera with some smart features built-in.

Powerful, protected, performanceThe moto x4 has a 3,000 mAh battery and is protected by IP68-rated water resistant design – offering protection from accidental spills, splashes, and even puddles – and a 3D rear contoured design, anodized aluminium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass that protects the front and back from scratches, making for a strong and handsome device. It has a new refreshed feature for bluetooth which can connect upto 4 devices at a time. It also has a 16MP front-facing camera, with an adaptive low light mode and new Panoramic Selfie feature, which provides a wider background for taking selfies.

The Moto X4 will likewise offer Google Assistant, and Motorola expressed that Alexa will be accessible on up and coming Motorola smartphones. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor which is clocked at 2.2 GHz and this is an octa-core CPU. The device comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box. Further, it has a single Nano SIM space supporting 4G LTE.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Moto X4 will be released in Europe this September where it will retail for €399. The design of the smartphone features a sandwiched, dual-glass form factor, and the device is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. One of the lens holds a 12MP shooter with an aperture pf F2.0 and Dual Pixel autofocus. The handset’s battery limit remains at 3,000 mAh, and the smartphone can be turbo-energized to six hours of battery in only 15 minutes of charging. The camera app also gets “Face Filters” like how apps like Snapchat, Instagram offer for users. The two cameras capture full color pictures, yet the primary camera highlights double pixel auto-focus, an f/2.0 focal point, and 1.4-micron pixels, while the wide-angle focal point offers a 120-degree field of view from its f/2.2 focal point and 1.12-micron pixels. The camera also comes with support for phase detection AF for fast and accurate focusing of subjects and create bokeh effects, along with 4K video recording.
