Mandatory Evacuations Ordered as Palmer Fire in Beaumont Spreads to 750 Acres

The fire is at 750 acres with 0% containment burning in light fuels at a moderate rate. One-hundred firefighters, nine engines and one helicopter are battling the flames.

About 475 firefighters from several agencies, including Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire Department were working to put out the blaze.

Officials did not provide details on the fireworks, nor if anyone was in custody.

A fast-moving brush fire west of Beaumont in Riverside County that erupted Saturday afternoon has grown to 1,000 acres and forced some residents to evacuate their homes.
