Man who ran into Burning Man fire dies

The newspaper reported that Mitchell was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, but toxicology tests are pending.

More than 70,000 people are expected at the art and music celebration in the Black Rock Desert, about 100 miles (161 kilometers) north of Reno.

The Man Burn is surrounded by a human chain of security officers, but this man managed to break through the chain and engulf himself in flames.

A man has died after running into the titular massive effigy being burnt at the climax of the 2018 Burning Man festival.

“People try to run into the fire as part of their spiritual portion of Burning Man“, Allen said.

Festival organizers did not immediately respond when asked for comment.

Last night Aaron Mitchell, a 41 year old man broke the safety perimeter and ran directly into the burning effigy.

Burning Man issued a statement through its official website to say that the individual was treated on scene, transported to the on-site medical facility and airlifted to a burn treatment center.

Burning Man festival caravans were being slowed by a wildfire blocking the main road to the annual event’s site in Nevada, and authorities warned the fire could advance toward the event site.
