Those are some pretty impressive claims as to the latency of this mouse, but assuming Lightspeed is all its cracked up to be, the G603 could indeed compete with wired mice in terms of performance.
They alsolaunch the Logitech G613 Lightspeed Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a high-performance wireless keyboard designed for gamers who demand the performance of mechanical switches and the freedom of wireless gaming.
The G603 wireless mouse is also equipped with the Lightspeed technology, and features Logitech’s new HERO optical sensor. HERO offers precision and accuracy at 12,000 DPI with no acceleration or smoothing and 10x the power efficiency of previous generation sensors.
The G603 can be used with Lightspeed in two modes: “Lightspeed Hi” mode and “Lightspeed Lo” mode. (It’s the grey rectangle in the photo above, in case you didn’t realize that was actually a product.) Logitech says that all three products together constitute “the next-generation wireless desktop”, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to complete the set; the mouse pad will be available sometime next month for $49.99. The G603 mouse uses Logitech’s proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless technology, which it calls Lightspeed, to allow the mouse to communicate with the PC it is attached to at a speed comparable to a wired mouse.
According to the company, it will offer up 1ms report rate and will rely on Bluetooth connectivity to pair with your computer. However if using the G603 for general activities users may switch to “lo” for an 8ms report rate and battery life extended from 500 hours to 18 months.
Starting with the G613, this is the latest mechanical keyboard from Logitech. It also features Logitech G’s exclusive Romer-G mechanical key switches, providing competition grade performance with incredible feel and durability.

The Logitech G613 is available to pre-order now at £129.99 including tax and postage.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that Logitech is also releasing the G840, an extra-large mouse mat which will be out next month priced at $50 (around £40, AU$65).
The precise size of the G840 XL is 900x400mm.
