Premier League side Liverpool are now waiting on a response from AS Monaco after submitting what is believed to be a 3rd bid for French global attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar.
The France global, who plays out wide or through the middle, was attracting more than just admiring glances from Wenger earlier this summer.
Some reports on social media suggest that Monaco want €100m for the midfielder, whereas other reports suggest they are determined to keep him at the club beyond this Thursdays transfer deadline.
Before Sunday, Arsenal could have argued that they have had the better summer, signing £52m Alexandre Lacazette and keeping hold of key players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil for one more season.
Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Dominic Solanke are the only new arrivals at Anfield this summer, but Jurgen Klopp hinted that could change after they secured their passage to the Champions League group stages.
The Express are reporting that Lemar is keen on a move this summer but isn’t going to force his way out of Monaco so it’s all down to the French giants to decide whether to cash-in.
Do you think Lemar will be a good signing for Liverpool?
On Sunday Liverpool proved that they were everything Arsenal weren’t on the field: exciting, hard-working and, quite possibly, title contenders. But with just three days of the transfer window remaining, it seems nigh on impossible that Spurs will get Lemar in.
