Liverpool FC pushing for record Thomas Lemar deal

Lemar is liked by clubs from all over Europe, including Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Liverpool have been trying to blow the door wide open again since Monday when they slapped in an €80m bid, which forced Monaco to at least think about considering the offer.

The Telegraph stresses that despite Monaco’s interest in Origi, they are determined to keep Lemar, so it will be interesting to see whether an improved bid involving the 22-year-old heading in the opposite direction tempts the Ligue 1 giants into accepting an offer.

Arsenal are prepared to meet a £75m buyout clause to sign Real Madrid’s Spain midfielder Marco Asensio, 21, before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

When e-sport player Dean Coombes tweeted that a private jet from Bournemouth had landed at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport, with a club auto ready to receive whoever was inside, it was simply too enticing for Reds fans not to investigate.

The ongoing rumours surrounding Philippe Coutinho’s future at Anfield makes this transfer even more important for Liverpool to get over the line.

“But we have to do the right things, look at the right players and negotiate with the right clubs”.

Liverpool have already made four new signings this summer in Andrew Robertson, Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke and, most recently, Naby Keita from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

Not so long ago, Duncan Castles reported for Daily Record that the French giants rate Thomas around 60 million euros but Liverpool have already surpassed that sum. As well as their previous Keita frustration their efforts to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton hit the rocks.

Carlo Ancelotti has “no problem” if the 20-year-old wants to depart the Allianz Arena in order to secure more game-time, but the Portugal global has not been one of the candidates considered to enhance Klopp’s options.
