Also speaking during the visit, the Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, said that the visit of the USA congregational delegation will go a long way to show how the United States is extending its hands in the counter insurgency operation in the northeast.
Coons said that the visit was created to appraise the performance of the military and to enable him to understand the challenges facing the Armed Forces in accomplishing its mission to defeat the insurgents.
“The US is strongly supporting the hard work of the military in combating terrorism and we are glad for the opportunity to know how we can support Nigeria in combating terrorism,”he said”. Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, also commended the efforts of the Military Command and Control Centre on the achievements made in the ongoing operations.
