5-Year-Old Girl Killed in Shooting Identified; Autopsy Planned

A five-year-old girl died after being shot at a home on Milliken Road in Scarborough Monday night, according to Maine State Police.

Detectives say the girl was staying with her parents and two elder siblings at the house in Scarborough while her grandparents were away.

Sgt. Harriman says several other adults were also in the home when the shooting happened. The Maine State Police were called to the scene to aid in the investigation. The gun involved in the shooting has been recovered. An autopsy for Elise Dorr has been scheduled.

The girl was taken to the hospital where she died.

No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.

Though McCausland and Police Chief Janine Roberts described the woman’s death as suspicious, McCausland said that doesn’t necessarily mean the death was a homicide. The home, however, doesn’t belong to the family.
